Closing the Gap: Understanding the Logical Security Risks to Your Physical and Electronic Security Systems
September 22, 2010 - 2:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time

A sound logical security strategy is designed to protect an organization’s data assets and the networks on which those assets reside. But when you’re taking inventory of such assets, are you remembering to include the information that’s inherent to your physical and electronic security systems? From video systems to access control, perimeter protection to identity management and more, logical security is as critical to your physical and electronic security systems as it is to your sensitive business data. A security integrator can be a valuable partner in helping bring logical security strategies full circle to ensure the protection of all of the elements in an organization’s security program.

This Webinar will:

  • Explore risks and threats to the logical security of physical and electronic security solutions,
  • Establish the case for logical protection of physical and electronic security systems,
  • Identify the role security integrators can play in logical security engagements,
  • Illustrate the ways a partnership with a security integrator can enhance the security of your systems and devices, and
  • Identify the end-user’s role in protecting their physical and electronic security systems.

Registration is required to attend this event. Please register now.

Auditing for Improvement
October 13, 2010
Noon Eastern Standard Time
60 minutes

One CPE Only

Overview:

The ANSI/ASIS SPC.1-2009 Organizational Resilience: Security, Preparedness, and Continuity Management Systems-Requirements with Guidance for Use Standard has been selected for inclusion in the Department of Homeland Security Private Sector Preparedness Program (PS-Prep), a voluntary program designed to improve private sector resilience and preparedness in an all hazards environment.

This is the third in a three-part series designed to help organizations become more resilient and better prepared to prevent and manage disruptive events. Learn how to evaluate your organization's current level of performance and build an action plan to achieve a desired level of resilience and preparedness that meets your business needs.

About the program:

Third in a three-part "Building a Resilient Organization" webinar series

"Live from deep in the heart of Texas," this webinar will be broadcast from the ASIS International Seminar and Exhibition. A core activity in implementing and maintaining a cost-effective resilience and preparedness strategy is auditing for improvement. Conformance with the ANSI/ASIS Organizational Resilience standard requires a program of internal auditing geared towards system improvement. Learn how to establish an internal auditing program consistent with the ISO 19011 that drives internal improvement, as well as provides an identical approach to auditing used by third-party certification bodies.

As part of the "Building a Resilient Organization" Webinar Series, registrants will receive a copy of the ASIS.SPC.1 Internal Audit and Self-Assessment tool.

Picture Perfect: Reveal the Details in Your Surveillance Images
November 10, 2010 - 1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

Whether you’re responsible for the security of an industrial site, corporate office park or defense installation, chances are there’s an area of your facility where the lighting is less than ideal for video surveillance. Vast dark spaces at energy or water processing plants, low light in warehouses or parking lots, and harsh lighting in office lobbies and exterior entranceways obscure the details and hamper threat detection. Join this webinar to explore the science of surveillance and get a step-by-step guide to capturing useable video in any lighting condition.

Learn how:

  • Active infrared illumination improves video quality and IP system performance for effective round-the-clock surveillance
  • LED degradation impacts security lighting over time
  • Infrared sensitivity enables cameras to capture useable images in low light
  • Advanced image processing improves detail reproduction capabilities
  • Backlight compensation optimizes light levels in scenes with a bright background
  • Wide dynamic range ensures detailed images from the darkest and brightest areas of a scene simultaneously

Apply these essential tips to your surveillance system to improve your ability to assess risks, respond to events, and secure important video evidence.
