Web 2.0: Investigations
That Move Beyond Google
February 17, 2010 @ noon Eastern
U.S.
About the
program: Web 2.0-a fairly new Internet
feature- allows you to vet hires, conduct due
diligence pre-acquisition, prevent competitive
intelligence, and identify problem employees
before workplace violence or intellectual property
theft occurs. It must be understood, however,
before it can utilized by investigators and
security professionals. This presentation moves
beyond Web 2.0 and reviews options such as social-
and photo-network Web sites, mapping tools, and
other Internet features that can be used for
intelligence gathering and security
assessments. Click for more information and to
register.
*********
About the
program: Cloud computing has taken
hold as a mainstream business option with nearly
half of companies using it, and another 40%
planning to. What is Cloud Computing and
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and how are they
relevant to physical and electronic security
services today? This webinar targets those with a
responsibility for, or interest in, physical and
electronic security solutions and introduces and
explains cloud computing and SaaS. It covers
associated terms and provides insight into the key
topics associated with SaaS that need to be
considered if you're considering it as a contender
for physical and electronic security services.

Chapter
Dues
As you know, the Las Vegas Chapter is
solely funded by member dues. Member dues
for 2010 remain at previous years' amount of
$30.00. Each member will be receiving an
e-mail from the Chapter Chairman via a service
called Intuit Billing Manager. This free
service allows the chapter to maintain a list of
members, invoice and track payments via a secure
online service. We elected not to go with
the additional cost required to process credit
card payments. You will be able to pay the
invoice with cash, check or money order in person
at any meeting. You may also remit payment
by check or money order to our mailing
address. In either case, the invoice will
contain a second remittance page that contains
your invoice number. Please bring that with
you or include it with your payment so we can
insure proper credit. In the past we have
had companies pay for the member dues and have had
difficulty determining which member that payment
was for. We will not be billing the two ASIS
Life Members or three student members. We
thank you for your continued support of the Las
Vegas
Chapter! |
