| Sponsored
by the ASIS Council on Academic Programs in Universities
and Colleges and administered by the ASIS Foundation,
the ASIS International Student Writing Competition rewards
students who conduct research, engage in thoughtful deliberation,
and write an academic paper between 3,000 and 6,000 words
on an issue relevant to the security and assets protection
profession.
The
undergraduate winner will receive $1,000, and the graduate
winner $1,500. Each winner also receives complimentary
registration to one of ASIS' annual events - the ASIS
International Annual Seminar and Exhibits, ASIS European
Conference, Asia/Pacific Conference, or Middle East
Conference. Two students will win Honorable Mention
awards of $500 each.

Cal State Fullerton Extended Education
|

|
This
program consists of six required courses totaling 70
hours of lecture and discussion. 7.0 Continuing Education
Units will be awarded to the certificate graduate.

As
the fourth largest two-year college of its kind in the
United States and Nevadas largest institution
of higher learning, CSN educates a professional and
technology savvy work force that has been the backbone
of the states dynamic growth and prosperity since
1971 when CSN opened its doors as Clark County Community
College with 402 students.
In
the last decade, CSN more than doubled its size in student
enrollment and full-time faculty. Each semester, CSN
registers nearly 40,000 students. Over 1,800 students
graduate yearly with associate degrees and certificates
of achievement.
The
College employs over 2,800 people while operating three
main campuses and 11 academic centers and sites in four
counties, in a 42,000 square mile area the size of Virginia.
The staff includes about 500 full-time faculty (nearly
a third with doctorates) and more than 800 part-time
instructors in over 125 career fields.

Course
September 27 to November 19, 2010
Students
will study fundamental reasons for Anti-Money Laundering
techniques and learn to recognize common techniques
used by criminals to accomplish laundering of illicit
funds. A practical approach to risk analysis will be
followed by learning the fundamental requirements of
Title 31 as it applies to the Casino Business from both
the Operations and back office approach. Finally, the
course will look at emerging risks and technologies
used to comply with Title 31.

Game Protection presents a 5-day program designed to
prepare surveillance leaders for management in the digital
age. This comprehensive course features highly regarded
instructors who cover a wide range of topics including
digital CCTV, casino math, budgeting & accounting
processes and setting up and managing a performance-based
surveillance operation.
The
SDA is conducted at the UNLV International Gaming Institute
once a year and is limited to 30 students.
